Best DynamoDB GUI clients in 2026
These are nine tools for browsing, querying and editing Amazon DynamoDB. We make Dynobase, so it comes first. Every entry, ours included, says what the tool is, what it costs, where it runs, who it suits and one real limitation.

How to choose
- To design a data model before you write code, start with NoSQL Workbench. It is free.
- To work with live tables every day, use a desktop client: Dynobase, DynoTable, Dynomate or Tablyne.
- To join tables with SQL, DynoTable is the one on this list that does it.
- For DynamoDB Local only, dynamodb-admin is free, and so is Tablyne's local plan.
1. Dynobase
A paid desktop client for DynamoDB. Version 3.0 added semantic search, PartiQL writes, on-demand backups, CloudWatch metrics, a Streams viewer, infrastructure code and a local MCP server (what's new in 3.0). Dynobase AI drafts DynamoDB code from a description (Dynobase AI). 3.0.9 shipped on 28 October 2026 (changelog).
- Price: Solo costs $9 a month, billed yearly ($108), or $199 once for a lifetime licence. Team costs $79 a month, billed yearly. Enterprise is priced on request. There is a 7-day free trial (pricing).
- Platforms: macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel (
brew install --cask dynobase), Windows and Linux (changelog). - Best for: Engineers who browse and edit production tables every day and want backups, metrics, Streams and infrastructure code in the same app. Also anyone who would rather pay once than subscribe.
- Limitation: There is no free plan. The trial lasts 7 days, then you need a licence (pricing).
2. DynoTable
A desktop client for DynamoDB and OpenSearch. Its SQL Workbench runs JOIN, GROUP BY and aggregates across tables, and its AI agent runs on your own Amazon Bedrock account (download page).
- Price: A 30-day trial with no card, then a free plan with no time limit for browsing, PartiQL SELECT, exports and MCP reads. Individual costs $9 a month, billed yearly ($108). Team costs $18 per seat a month, billed yearly (pricing). Monthly billing is $12 (DynoTable).
- Platforms: macOS on Apple Silicon, Windows, and Linux as deb, rpm or AppImage (download page).
- Best for: People who want SQL JOIN and GROUP BY over live tables, an AI agent inside the client, or OpenSearch next to DynamoDB.
- Limitation: No Intel Mac build. It also has no on-demand backups, Streams viewer or CloudWatch metrics, which stay in the AWS console (DynoTable).
3. AWS NoSQL Workbench
AWS's own desktop app. It has a data modeler, a visualizer for access patterns, and an operation builder for live data. It includes DynamoDB local (AWS docs).
- Price: Available at no additional cost (AWS).
- Platforms: macOS on Intel and Apple silicon, Windows and Linux (download page).
- Best for: Designing tables, keys and GSIs around access patterns, and testing them on sample data.
- Limitation: The operation builder saves at most 50 data operations (AWS docs).
4. AWS DynamoDB console
The DynamoDB section of the AWS Management Console. You can create and delete tables, view and edit items, and see metrics and alarms (AWS docs).
- Price: You sign in with your AWS account. Reads, writes and storage are billed at normal DynamoDB rates (pricing).
- Platforms: Any browser, at console.aws.amazon.com/dynamodb (AWS docs).
- Best for: Occasional lookups and table settings when you don't want to install anything.
- Limitation: Its PartiQL editor follows DynamoDB's PartiQL, which has no JOIN or GROUP BY (AWS reference).
5. Dynomate
A desktop workspace for DynamoDB, Athena and Aurora DSQL (Dynomate).
- Price: Community is a free, limited version. Indie costs $10 a month, Professional $18 and Enterprise $29, all billed yearly. Paid plans have a 14-day free trial (pricing).
- Platforms: macOS, Windows and Linux (Dynomate).
- Best for: Developers who save and organize requests in collections and switch between environments.
- Limitation: AWS SSO profiles and request collections need the Professional plan, at $18 a month billed yearly (pricing).
6. Tablyne
A native DynamoDB client built in Rust. It was at version 1.0.1 when we checked (Tablyne).
- Price: Free for DynamoDB Local and LocalStack. Pro costs $59 a year, Lifetime $99 once, and Team $7 per seat a month for two seats or more. There is a 14-day trial with no card (Tablyne).
- Platforms: macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel, Windows and Linux (Tablyne).
- Best for: Developers who want a cheap lifetime licence, or a free client for DynamoDB Local.
- Limitation: The free plan connects only to DynamoDB Local and LocalStack (Tablyne).
7. dynamodb-admin
An open-source web GUI for DynamoDB Local, dynalite and LocalStack. You install it from npm and open it in a browser (GitHub). Version 5.3.3 was published on 10 June 2026 (npm).
- Price: Free and open source under the MIT licence (npm).
- Platforms: Runs as a Node.js server on your machine; you use it in a browser (GitHub).
- Best for: Inspecting a local or Docker DynamoDB during development and tests.
- Limitation: It is built for local endpoints. By default it points at localhost:8000 with dummy credentials (GitHub).
8. DataGrip
JetBrains' database IDE. It can add DynamoDB as a data source and query it (JetBrains docs).
- Price: Free for non-commercial use. Commercial work needs a paid subscription (JetBrains).
- Platforms: Windows, macOS and Linux (JetBrains).
- Best for: People who already work in DataGrip and want DynamoDB next to their SQL databases.
- Limitation: Queries use the subset of PartiQL that DynamoDB supports (JetBrains docs), so there is no JOIN or GROUP BY (AWS reference).
9. DynamoDB plugin for JetBrains IDEs
A third-party plugin on the JetBrains Marketplace. You can browse and edit tables, run PartiQL with autocompletion, and import or export CSV and JSON (JetBrains Marketplace).
- Price: Personal costs $30 a year or $3 a month. Corporate costs $70 a year or $7 a month. It is free for students and teachers, and has a free trial (plugin site).
- Platforms: Runs inside JetBrains IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm and GoLand (JetBrains Marketplace).
- Best for: Developers who want DynamoDB data next to their code without another app.
- Limitation: You need a JetBrains IDE to use it; it is not a standalone app (JetBrains Marketplace).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free DynamoDB GUI?
Yes. NoSQL Workbench is free from AWS, and dynamodb-admin is free and open source. DynoTable has a free plan after its trial, Dynomate has a limited free Community plan, and Tablyne is free for DynamoDB Local. DataGrip is free for non-commercial use.
Which DynamoDB GUI can join tables with SQL?
DynoTable's SQL Workbench runs JOIN and GROUP BY across tables (DynoTable). DynamoDB's own PartiQL has no JOIN or GROUP BY (AWS reference), so tools that run PartiQL, including Dynobase, can't do this.
Which DynamoDB GUI clients run on Intel Macs?
Is Dynobase still maintained?
Yes. Dynobase 3.0.0 shipped on 11 September 2026 and 3.0.9 on 28 October 2026 (changelog).
Which DynamoDB GUIs include an MCP server?
Dynobase (MCP server) and DynoTable (pricing) both ship one, so AI coding tools such as Claude Code can read your tables through the app.
